With this being my first blog post for Derooted I thought that it would be best to share one of the most important things I’ve learned as a design intern. Find ways to always be inspired, whether it is reading a book, going for a walk outside, or doing some random sketches, it is a quintessential thing for anyone in the creative field to take that into consideration to be sure that their work doesn’t become repetitive.

Now with that being said I have a long way to go when it comes to stepping away from the computer and exploring what the world has to offer visually but I will get their eventually. I’ve already taken advantage of the awesome collage of books in the Derooted office. With books and magazines on everything from advertising, packaging, design, etc. I have used my lunch breaks well.

To conclude, as I continue to progress as a designer I can take away a great working ethic from Derooted and that is to simply get out of my comfort zone and indulge in what my environment has to offer me and from that something good (hopefully design wise) will come out of it.
